“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)
When is the last time you took a morning moment, while drinking your cup of coffee or tea, and purposefully meditated on the person of Jesus Christ?
If you can’t remember, why not take a few moments today before you rush out into your schedule packed day and think about our Savior?
Think about His Birth. (Humble)
Think about His Purpose. (You)
Think about His Life. (Given)
Think about His Message. (The Way)
Thin about His Desire. (Our heart)
Think about His Kingdom. (It’s coming)
He sure is a good Subject to start the day thinking about isn’t He? Maybe we should make that a daily exercise in order to put our life into perspective.
When we packed up to move back to Brazil in 2011, we had to make a list of each and every item in each and every box. The boxes had to be labeled and numbered with a detailed description. It was time consuming and a lot of hard work to prepare for the day we loaded the container and sent it on its way.
I still have furniture in the house that have numbers written in red and black permanent markers on them from the shipping company. They are reminders of all the labor that went into an international move. I scrubbed many of the numbers off, but not all of the marks were able to be removed. There are also scratches, nicks and gashes that were made by those in Customs. Every now and then I stop and look at where that shipping company and people in Customs marred my belongings and I get kind of aggravated. It bothers me that they were so careless with items that didn’t belong to them.
As you take time to think on Jesus today, remember that, as a Christian, you belong to Him. You are living down here in this sin filled world, but you don’t have to get marred by it. Jesus doesn’t have to be reminded to think about you. His eyes are on you every minute of every day and He cares about your condition. He is aware of every bump, nick and gouge you experience. He is aware when you have slid off into an area you shouldn’t and He knows when you are feeling like you are sinking. He hasn’t stopped looking at you one single time. You are His prized possession. He has a solution for your every need.
He should be of great value to us because He came here to offer us salvation, but we should remember that we are always of greatest value to Him as well.
Take time to think about the fact that YOU ARE BEING THOUGHT ON today by the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords and the Friend of friends.
Until Next Time, Lord willing,
