Day 250

“I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.”  (Psalms 119:174)

The psalmist has written and written and written about the Word.  And he comes down to the last few verses and found that It is his delight.  He has concluded that he doesn’t have to look further than the Lord.

Aren’t you glad that Jesus gave us John 14:6?

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  (John 14:6)

We don’t have to look any further than our Savior for help.  He is the Way.  He is the Truth.  He is the Life.

What more do we need?  We can delight in the knowledge that the Lord is the One Who will always be there to give us what we need, show us where to go and help us when we are confused about any of it.

The next two verses of this chapter fall on the weekend and are for personal study, so let me take a moment and give you a personal conclusion about this entire journey through Psalm 119.

We need the Word.  We can’t survive without It.  Sure, our salvation is settled and we can’t lose that, but our spiritual lives will be in shambles if we are not daily seeking to hear from the Lord in this Book we call the Bible.

I hope that the wisdom you have gleaned through Psalm 119 has helped you with your life as much as it has helped me during this trying phase I am in right now.  I have really needed the reminder and the assurance of His power.

Should you desire further study, I have a friend, Allison McKay, who has just published an entire book about this chapter.  You can purchase your copy on her website: Delight Thyself Ministries

Join me next week as we highlight some more Scripture each day that will help us dwell in the Lord.

Until Next Time, Lord willing,
