“I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.” Psalms 119:121
This is a new start to another section of this powerful chapter. The voice of the psalmist seems to have a bit of change to it as he looks to God to act on his behalf.
Have you ever been in a situation where you look at the hardship in front of you and then threw your hands out and proclaimed, “Lord, I don’t deserve this, and I need your protection!”
Today’s verse doesn’t bring resolution to the psalmist’s problem, but it does show us that we can ask God to protect us from evil. Matter of fact, I think Jesus said something similar:
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:13
You may live right, pray, and read your Bible, but your enemies will still come against you. The psalmist pled his case to the Lord but then he did something VERY necessary, he asked God to help him.
What are you facing this new work week? Is there something that seems to be too big of a giant to conquer?
How about stopping whatever it is you are doing and ask God to help you. Ask Him to protect you and deliver you.
Place your life in God’s hands and do it with confidence that if ANYONE could handle it, HE can!
There isn’t a need to worry because in the end, you either believe that He is greater than the world or you don’t.
Until Next Time, Lord willing,
