Day 141

“TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.”  Psalms 119:65

Has God ever failed you?

Think back on your life.  Think about that difficult stretch where you wondered how your life was going to turn out or be changed.

Did God fail you?

Think back on that time when others shunned you, and relationships were severed and you felt like nothing would ever be the same.

Did God fail you?

Think about that time when money had run out and another bill showed up in the mailbox.

Did God fail you?

Think about that time you stood by a wee little coffin and your heart broke into a thousand pieces.

Did God fail you?

Think about that time when you sat across from the doctor and he told you the news wasn’t good.

Did God fail you?

No, He has never failed any of us and He NEVER will.

Pain does not signify failure on God’s part.

He has promised to meet our needs, care for us, abide with us, dwell in us, never forsake us, lead us, guide us, perform a work in us and eventually come back and get us.

God ALWAYS keeps His word.

So why do we always treat each new heartache as a test to see if God is going to finally fail us?  We put Him on trial to judge His faithfulness!

….and that means we are NOT trusting Him.

God doesn’t need to be tested or proved to make sure He is who He says He is.  We can trust Him!

I just received a summons to report for jury duty in a couple of weeks.  Obviously I am hoping the case will be dismissed and I won’t have to spend any time in a courtroom, but I just may have to perform my civic duty and hear out a case about the accused.

The psalmist doesn’t “hear out” a case against God in today’s verse, he just simply states the fact that God has dealt well with him, just like He said He would.  I love that!  No need for a “innocent until proven guilty” time period.

God is God.  He doesn’t change in the amount He loves, cares, and is jealous over you.  Whatever He is doing in your life most certainly is His perfect work and there will come a point once you can think again, that you will say:

“Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”  Psalms 66:16

Sometimes I think it would do us a WORLD of good if we would just STOP and remember all the times God showed us plainly that He is exactly Who He says He is.  Doing so would cause us to declare Him to others and praise Him for being God.

We need more praising in our thoughts, words and actions.

We need to STOP putting God on trial.

Allowing our thoughts to dwell in God will produce a thankful attitude and a trusting heart.

“Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;”  Psalms 105:5

Until Next Time, Lord willing,
