Day 7

AB29670F-12A3-4138-B5C6-B2DBD06DCE50
STUDY TIME!

(On Saturdays and Sundays my blog posts will give you a verse to study. I won’t give you the reference….you have to find it for yourself. I will then ask you some questions)

VERSE:

“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”

QUESTIONS:

  • Who is speaking?
  • What is going on in his life?  Is he in danger?
  • What does the word “shield” mean?
  • Has God ever shielded you?  How?

*** HELPFUL TIP ***

If you do not own a concordance or commentary, try downloading the e-Sword app to your phone or tablet.  This app can be VERY useful when you want to do a word study or find a verse when you are on the go.

Until Next Time, Lord willing,

Sheri

I hope leaving my answers on here are ok.?
    Psalms 3:3,
David is writing this and he was surronded by armies of men and Absalom his son was out to kill him. But he trusted in God instead of his own strength.
I think the word “shield” means protector here. He knew he could trust God to protect him.
Something really recent in God protecting me was I was at a stop light down the road and i knew my light was going to change soon but I had dropped something and figured I had time to look/feel for it. I did and I looked up to see my light had changed and a Suntran bus ran their red light right then, my green. If I had been watching the light to change and took off as soon as it did I would have been smashed on my side by the bus.
God protected me. It wasn’t my time to be called home.
